What if the film won't advance or jams?
|
When loading a new roll of film, make sure that the cartridge seats properly by applying gentle downward pressure. If the cartridge is not pushed all the way in, the film will advance at an angle across the camera back, causing it to jam after two or three frames.
If jamming occurs or the film fails to advance, do not try to force the film. Pressure on the advance lever can tear the film and/or cause permanent damage to the camera. Instead, take the camera into a dark room or closet, open the camera back, and inspect the film and cartridge. Make certain that the cartridge is properly seated, being careful not to touch the film surface. If you cannot detect a problem with your loading technique, take the camera to a qualified camera dealer for servicing.
